The Founder

Igwe is a true child of the 80’s who has been writing software since he was 12. He is slightly disillusioned that most of the future technology he was promised in his childhood has failed to materialize owing to God knows what. Now that he is older, he thinks he knows why this is the case.

The problem is that software companies are run by MBA types who know next to nothing about the software development process. The cult of the MBA wants you to believe that you can run organizations that do things you simply do not understand.

Igwe paraphrases Joel Spolsky and notes that watching a non-programmer trying to run a software company is like watching someone who can’t swim try to swim.

On a lighter note, he is very much in love with Asian Culture, especially the Japanese variant. Alexander the Great is among his many dead heroes. Alas, the living fail to inspire him.

The dead pass on into mythology. The living are exposed for all their faults.

He enjoys reading the classics (from ancient Greece and Rome) and novels from the 18th/19th century. Leo Tolstoy is his favourite author and he even rates the dead russian above Shakespeare.

Igwe happens to be a gifted programmer with excellent knowledge of Java, Ruby, Python and Ocaml. He praises the Lord every day as a result.
